The 2-7 Officer wives coffee........we are just getting to Savannah. Another wife, Maria, took all these pictures. It was a progressive dinner night. We started with appetizers at the Harrington home (our house) and then went to Churchill's for dinner. After that, we ended the night at Lulu's Chocolate bar for dessert. We had a blast!

It's official.

It's official. My prince and I have been apart for longer than we have been together since we've been married. Let me break that down......Eli and I were married over five months ago. We had 1 month (almost) together, one month apart, 1.5 (ish) together, and now we've been apart for one week shy of two months!!!! I told him I was starting to forget what his face looked like up close. hah, jk, but seriously.

So, I thought this whole deployment thing would get easier. I workout out with my Army girlfriend three times a week, go to dinner, host get-togethers, stay social, and am in grad school full time....but it still is just a filler for the time passing. God is teaching me, daily, of how I need to be more dependant on Him. Even so, this isn't getting much easier. I miss him so much.

I think what I miss most is his presence. There are nights where I cook dinner while anticipating his arrival only to realize he won't be joining me for dinner. There are nights when our bed sleeps extra cold. There are days where I look things around the house and remember him being here. But there are also days when I see that God is growing us both closer to Him and to each other. Though his presence isn't there, I am learning to cope.

It's difficult finding the balance between married life dependence and single living independence. This balance is one I thought I would never have to find, but I'm forced into it- which isn't a bad thing since God is our life planner. Though it's been my biggest challenge, I'm moving right along. I mean, it's already February 9th!

I'm doing well in Grad school because I have more time to study. I'm reading more and trying to listen more. I'm making great girlfriends and staying social. I love our house. I'm getting more and more wedding veil clients.....all the while trying to keep up with my inventory. I've been traveling, and I busy getting ready for three weddings this year! So, as pitiful as I sound, we are both getting through this time of separation. I can't wait til he is officially home. ;)

One month down.

So this month has gone by quickly, Praise God. Some days are easy, and some days I wish would go much faster. I spent Christmas in North Carolina.....New Year's with some Army wives/girlfriends/fiances in Georgia.......and I am now back home finishing my Master's Degree. My veil business is going smoothly and I'm in the process of making three at the moment. My job search, on the other hand, is not going as smooth. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough......maybe I'm still getting used to all these changes. Marriage, moving geographical locations, DEPLOYMENT, new friends, school, new house.....and new job? Sometimes I wonder if I'm ready. I'm ready!

Here is a list of my classes:
Global Economic Environment
Entrepreneurship
Accounting for Decision Making
Legal Issues in Business
Strategic Marketing Management

whew!....and then, I can walk at graduation!

I'm reading these books:
Love & Respect
Lies Young Women Believe (I'm leading a mentor-ship class and going through this book)
Infant Baptism

I'm working out like this:
3 times a week I....workout with another army wife at this nice gym (It's free!)
1 time a week I ......roller blade with another wife at church, don't laugh, hah
4 times a week I.....go walking with a sweet neighbor who also goes to the same church
2 times a week I.....do 30 minutes of p90x
I'm getting in good shape, hah.

I'm also:
missing my husband dearly!
praying more than ever
re-starting the budget (solo for a year)
finding a job
keeping the house up
mentoring a group of teenage girls
making wedding veils
watching kids....sometimes
SOCIALIZING!!!- hah

Pictures to come.....

It's day by day, remember?

While everyone seems to be starting new and working on resolutions for 2010, I'm trying to get my life back together. Now don't take that as a negative statement, rather a statement of new life experiences. My other half has been gone for almost three weeks now and I'm finally starting to get back into the routine of being some-what independent. I thought after three months this would be easy, but I'm finding out that marriage creates dependence of two people to each other. With that being said, I feel as though literally half of my heart is away.

Though happy at times, sad at times, un-motivated at times, highly sensitive at times, encouraged at times, and whatever else comes my way......half of me is constantly wondering aimlessly trying to find what the other half is doing. It's very distracting, I've found, and can be what I believe to be Satan's attack on me. I often find myself not knowing what to do next....but then my other half calls and says to take it one day at a time. My heart then smiles. So, instead of looking too far into this year, I'm going to try and take this day-by-day.

I love you sweetheart,
Mrs. H
